Adult Building Resource Library
A group of older single adults, the Celebration class enjoys one another’s fellowship and the support and study of single adult issues. The class features an active calendar of social events and service opportunities, as well as the caring attitude and comfort of other single adults. Explorers
Adult Building, Room 203
A group of adults of all ages, the Explorers class is interested in studying the Bible as a tool to examine life and determine how God calls people to live. They enjoy lively discussion, wonderful fellowship, shared leadership, and participate in several service projects. A rotating team of class members teach the class, with an occasional guest speaker.
Friendship
Adult Building, Room 103
The Friendship class is a Bible study class of working and retired persons in their 60’s and 70’s. The class features lessons based on the Bible and faith-in-life topics. They participate in mission projects sponsored by the church and enjoy five social events a year.
Gumbo
Adult Building, Room 105
The Gumbo class started in 1983 by slowly stirring a roux of adults from different spiritual backgrounds and of various ages. They blended into a group that enjoys and encourages open discussions on Bible studies and issues of faith and life. In addition to spiritual growth and comradery, the class is committed to supporting mission projects and the building of friendships.
Lagniappe
Adult Building, Room 104
The Lagniappe class is made of adults of all ages who are committed to knowing more about God. They often view life’s experiences from different perspectives and enjoy the study of the Bible, contemporary issues, and faith-in-life topics. A rotating team of class members teaches the class, with an occasional guest speaker.
Lamplighters
Adult Building, Room 106
The Lamplighters class is a group of senior adults who meet weekly Bible study and fellowship.
New Horizons
Adult Building, Room 204
The New Horizons class is a close-knit group of single and married adults, mid-40’s to late 50’s, some with children ranging from middle school to post-college age. Members teach the class, with lessons and discussions on a variety of biblically-based topics that encourage individuals to live as Christians in all aspects of life and challenge Christians to put their faith into action. They also enjoy monthly supper clubs, a variety of fellowship times, annual trips, and outreach involvement.
Seekers
Adult Building, Room 201
The Seekers are a lively class of mature couples and singles that focus on faith-in-life issues and practical application of the Christian ethic through Bible study, discussions and presentations by class members and guest speakers. We support missions and community needs through donations of money and needed items. Members and guests have fun and fellowship at a variety of social activities sponsored by the class.
Serendipity
Adult Building, Room 202
Serendipity is a class of married and single people. Aged 50 years old and up, but all ages are welcome. Sunday studies are organized and taught by class members. The studies range from books of the Bible to books or videos by modern Christian authors such as Adam Hamilton and Ray van der Laan. They are very active in church missions such as Habitat for Humanity, Open Air Ministries, Emmaus and BUMC. In addition, they participate in social activities with one another throughout the year for fun and fellowship.

ADULT CHOIRS & MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES
Chancel Choir
Rehearses Thursdays, 7:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary
The Chancel Choir sings for the 11:00 a.m. Sanctuary worship service each Sunday. This choir presents a Christmas and a Lenten concert each year.
Men’s Quartet
Rehearses as needed
This small group sings traditional hymns, gospel, and spiritual arrangements on occasion here in our worship services. Membership is by interview.
Chancel Ringers
Rehearses Wednesdays, 5:00 p.m. in the Sanctuary (September – May)
This is a handbell ensemble open to senior high, college, and adult ringers with beginning – advanced ringing ability. They ring occasionally in worship and for special occasions.
Broadmoor Brass
Rehearses as needed
This is a group of brass players who play occasionally in worship, for special programs, and as an outreach ministry.
The King’s Pipes
Rehearses as needed
The King’s Pipes is a flute choir open to experienced flutists. They play periodically in worship and for other church and community events. For more information, contact Heidi Bain at hebain@bellsouth.net.
Contemporary Service Band
Sundays, 8:30 a.m. in the Casual Worship Center
