Welcome to BUMY, the Broadmoor United Methodist Youth Ministry!
We believe that God has great things in store for both middle and high school students today! Our goal is to help them navigate what it means to be a Christ follower in the midst of a chaotic world.
BUMY is one big family of 7th – 12th graders. Like a big family, we eat together, play together, laugh together, argue together, cry together, and travel together. We are not perfect, but we love what we do, and we’d love for you to join us on our journey.
We offer a variety of opportunities for 6th – 12th graders to explore their faith including:
- Sunday School (9:00 – 10:00 a.m. in The Cave located in the Youth Activities Building)
- Youth Group (5:00 – 7:00 p.m. in the Casual Worship Center, with a light dinner served)
- Youth Band (4:00 p.m. most Sundays during the school year – please check the youth calendar – all are welcome)
- Mission Trips
- Swim and Scripture
- 5th Sunday worship with the other Methodist youth groups in Greater Baton Rouge
United Methodist Confirmation is offered to our students in 8th grade. Confirmands learn about the United Methodist Church, discipleship, and membership in a congregation. They visit other worshiping faith communities, participate in mission projects, and write their class creed.
Now is a great time to get involved at Broadmoor. Let’s grow in our faith together! Please contact the church office at (225) 924-6269.
The Youth Band meets most Sundays before Youth Group at 4:00 p.m. in The Cave. They learn contemporary worship music and lead the youth group in worship once a month. They also occasionally play for conference events and in worship services at Broadmoor. Drums, vocals, piano, bass, really any instrument is welcome. If you want to join, we’ve got a spot for you!
