Adult Building, Room 205
The Fellowship class is comprised of persons 55 years of age and older, but all adults are welcome. Lessons from the International Adult Bible Studies are led by several members of the class who each teach one Sunday a quarter. The lessons provide the opportunity to participate in discussion. The class also participates in many mission endeavors and service opportunities.
Adult Building, Room 204
The New Horizons class is a close-knit group of single and married adults, mid-40’s to late 50’s, some with children ranging from middle school to post-college age. Members teach the class, with lessons and discussions on a variety of biblically-based topics that encourage individuals to live as Christians in all aspects of life and challenge Christians to put their faith into action. They also enjoy monthly supper clubs, a variety of fellowship times, annual trips, and outreach involvement.
9:30 a.m. Classes
Adult Building, Room 102
Many in the Ed McDonald Bible class have grandchildren or great-grandchildren, making this group of mature adults ideal for retired persons. Coffee and visitation begin at 10:15 a.m. The class uses DVD assisted studies of the Bible.
Adult Building, Room 203
A group of adults of all ages, the Explorers class is interested in studying the Bible as a tool to examine life and determine how God calls people to live. They enjoy lively discussion, wonderful fellowship, shared leadership, and participate in several service projects. A rotating team of class members teach the class, with an occasional guest speaker.
Adult Building, Room 103
The Friendship class is a Bible study class of working and retired persons in their 60’s and 70’s. The class features lessons based on the Bible and faith-in-life topics. They participate in mission projects sponsored by the church and enjoy five social events a year.
Adult Building, Room 105
The Gumbo class started in 1983 by slowly stirring a roux of adults from different spiritual backgrounds and of various ages. They blended into a group that enjoys and encourages open discussions on Bible studies and issues of faith and life. In addition to spiritual growth and comradery, the class is committed to supporting mission projects and the building of friendships.
Adult Building, Room 104
The Lagniappe class is made of adults of all ages who are committed to knowing more about God. They often view life’s experiences from different perspectives and enjoy the study of the Bible, contemporary issues, and faith-in-life topics. A rotating team of class members teaches the class, with an occasional guest speaker.
Adult Building, Room 106
The Lamplighters class is for couples and singles 55 years and older. The class focuses on faith, friendship, fun and fellowship. Lessons usually follow the adult Bible study series and are taught by class members.
Adult Building, Room 201
The Seekers are a lively class of mature couples and singles that focus on faith-in-life issues and practical application of the Christian ethic through Bible study, discussions and presentations by class members and guest speakers. We support missions and community needs through donations of money and needed items. Members and guests have fun and fellowship at a variety of social activities sponsored by the class.
Adult Building, Room 202
Serendipity is a class of married and single people. Aged 50 years old and up, but all ages are welcome. Sunday studies are organized and taught by class members. The studies range from books of the Bible to books or videos by modern Christian authors such as Adam Hamilton and Ray van der Laan. They are very active in church missions such as Habitat for Humanity, Open Air Ministries, Emmaus and BUMC. In addition, they participate in social activities with one another throughout the year for fun and fellowship.
Community Ministries Building, Room 1
The Sojourners are a group of adults 55 years or older who study the Bible or related materials together. The class is centered on discussion and fellowship. Sojourners are involved in service and have several opportunities each year to gather socially. Class members lead the group discussion each Sunday.
Youth Building, Room 3
Third Day is a class for guests and new members of any age led by Rev. Kennon Pickett. The class discusses current events and other relevant topics, with a biblical perspective.
10:45 a.m. Class
Adult Building, Room 201
A group of older single adults, the Celebration class enjoys one another’s fellowship and the support and study of single adult issues. The class features an active calendar of social events and service opportunities, as well as the caring attitude and comfort of other single adults. ADULT CHOIRS & MUSIC OPPORTUNITIES
Rehearses Thursdays, 7:00 p.m. in the Choir Room (summer schedule – Sundays, 10:15 a.m. in the Choir Room)
The Chancel Choir sings for the 10:45 a.m. Sanctuary worship service each Sunday. This choir presents a Christmas and a Lenten concert each year.
Rehearses Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m. in the Choir Room (summer schedule – Sundays, 8:00 a.m. in the Choir Room)
The Worship Choir sings for the 8:30 a.m. Daybreak worship service most Sundays.
Rehearses Tuesdays, 2:00 p.m. in the Choir Room (September – May)
The Saints Alive choir sings “fun” sacred and secular music and is open to adults 55 and over. They sing in nursing homes, for special activities, and in occasionally in the 8:30 a.m. Daybreak worship service.
Rehearses Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m. in the Choir Room (September – May)
The Women’s Ensemble sings occasionally in worship services and for special church and community events. Its ministry includes singing for residents of retirement and nursing facilities and for civic organizations.
Rehearses as needed
This small group sings traditional hymns, gospel, and spiritual arrangements on occasion here in our worship services, and for other churches and community events. Membership is by interview.
Rehearses Wednesdays, 6:45 p.m. in the Handbell Room (September – May)
This is a handbell ensemble open to senior high, college, and adult ringers with beginning – advanced ringing ability. They ring occasionally in worship and for special occasions. Contact Tammy Ross, director, at email@example.com.

This is a group of brass players who play occasionally in worship, for special programs, and as an outreach ministry.
The King’s Pipes

Casual Service Band
Sundays, 8:30a.m. in the Casual Worship Center
The Casual Service band leads singing and music weekly at 10:45 a.m. in the Casual Worship Center on Sundays, and auditions are always available.
